Paper abstract

Ceramique eubeenne a Naxos au debut de l'Age du Fer

Reber Karl

In this paper I will treat the euboean imports in the Cemetery Plithos in Naxos, excavated by Photini Zaphiropoulou in 1977-78.Beside a well documented local ware we find in the more than 80 graves of this cemetery a lot of skyphoi with pendent semicircles, but also other euboean wares imported in the time between the end of the protogeometric and the end of the middle geometric period. These imports give us a good impression of how relations between the two islands have been and about the leading role that eubean trade-ships played in the Aegean.
