Fishing in `dark waters΄: a review of the archaeological and archaeozoological evidence of the exploitation of aquatic resources in the Greek Early Iron Age
- Θεοδωροπούλου Τατιάνα
This paper is trying to shed light on the existing documentation related to the exploitation of the aquatic environment during the Early Iron Age. Direct archaeozoological evidence (fishbones, shellfish, and other aquatic remains) as well as indirect tools (material culture, representations, textual information) are put together to provide a closer look at the question. Some punctual examples from recently studied material are also given. The discussion opens to continuity with previous and subsequent periods and general trends of subsistence strategies.
