RAILWAY MUSEUM OF THESSALY
The museum is located at the railway station constructed in 1884 by the Italian engineer E. De Chirico, father of the famous painter.

MUSEUM THEOFILOS

The famous naive painter Theofilos (1870-1934), born in Mytilini, spent many years in the Pelion, portraying his fellow villagers.

MUSEUM OF THE BRICK FACTORY TSALAPATA

The factory was constructed in 1925 by refugees from Asia Minor and operated until 1975. This is one of the major industrial museums of Europe.

SYNAGOGUE
Xenofontos & Platonos
The present building is located on the same site as the original one, built in 1870 in the centre of the Jewish neighbourhood. It was destroyed by the Germans in 1943. During World War II a large part of the Jewish population of Volos found refuge in the villages of Mount Pelion and were thus saved from destruction.

HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL
Riga Ferraios Square, near the Town Hall.
It was built in 1998 to honour the memory of the Jewish citizens of Volos and the victims of the Holocaust.

VOLOS TOWN HALL
Built in 1970 by Greek architect Dimitris Pikionis in the traditional style of Mount Pelion. On the first floor visitors can look at pictures portraying parts of the town's history.

"PALIA" NEIGHBOURHOOD
The oldest neighbourhood of Volos, which functioned as a commercial centre since the Ottoman times.

BEACH
The nearest beach is just below the Xenia Hotel. But most citizens go to the Anavros beach a bit further down.
