Secondary narrative analysis of biographical interviews: a workshop

In this paper, I attempt to develop a theoretical framework concerning the secondary narrative analysis employed in structured interfamilial biographical interviews. The latter focused on childhood experiences of Greek narrators in the 1930's. The issue was investigated in two workshops on Interpretative and Reflective Narrative Analysis of Biographical Interviews that took place in the context of History and Teaching of History / Folklore Studies and Culture Postgraduate Programme of the Department of Primary Education of the University of Athens. The interpretive analysis of the interviews is meant to highlight the obvious and hidden meanings of the narrators' discourses regarding their childhood, thus revealing attitudes and values related either to the past or the present time of their narrations.
