The archive without body. Cultural memory and digital oral history archives

Digital advantages unify forms of communicative and cultural memory, while oral history archives and complementary material formulate a virtual hypertext of memory. In this context, new communities of memory are emerging and the new options for internet and multimedia presentations reshape the historical representation. The experience of the digital reception of mnemonic material -often defined as "new" - redefines "fact", "trauma", "identity" and their symbolic function. Old and new issues renegotiate oral history, its autonomy and its relation to History and mnemonic studies.
