An Unusual Capital from the Sanctuary of Herakles in Thebes

During the excavation at the Sanctuary of Herakles in Thebes a little column, worked in one piece with the capital, was found, reused in a later wall together with other archaic material. Its very unusual shape and the very significant context offer us the opportunity for some reflections and considerations.
