Symbolic of village community space among Balkan Slavs.

Proposed paper should examine several examples of the village community space structure and symbolic meanings of it. Firstly, it would be examined issues of ritual and mythical establishing of the village space, new space, which according to the traditional models was done by magical plowing in a circle in very special ritual circumstances. After the space of the new village had been established, or in cases the already established village space was destructed, there have been organized very similar rituals of plowing as a symbolic reestablishing the new village space.
There would be explored the questions of symbolic center of the village (church, market place) and the issues of the village boundaries (sinor). Also, at same time, there would be discussed questions of social and economical aspects of the village space.
