The Almyros and Sourpi Plains: a diachronic perspective

The Greek-Dutch surveys in the Almyros and Sourpi plains, conducted between 1990 and 2011, have yielded a large number of sites covering every period from Neolithic to Modern Times. With a final publication under way, some things can already be said about settlement patterns and characteristics of habitation in different periods. These results will also be related to the picture emerging from the excavations at Halos and in the Voulokaliva area, and patterns seen elsewhere in Thessaly.
